The course presents the teachers with appropriate background material on American Jewry, its history, components and ties to Israel and Judaism. It shows them different methods and tools to use in presenting the material to their students in an attempt to expose the Israeli students to Jewish life in America – from their initial immigration until today and to deepen their understanding and strengthen their ties to the Jews of the Diaspora. Finally, the teachers also learn how to develop a project on this topic for the Oral Bagrut, using the wealth of material that they themselves help to compile.

To enable the teachers to offer their students a new and interesting topic for their project for the Oral Bagrut.
To give the teachers tools to help and guide the students to research different parts of Jewish life in the United States and write a project for their Oral Bagrut

30 hours, with a grade. The course includes synchronous and a-synchronous meetings.
Teachers fulfill various tasks (questions, forum, tasks, etc.) throughout the course and can work in pairs to prepare one topic of their choice for the students’ project. They present it to the group as part of a pool of resources for everyone’s use
