The proposed course is offered to high school Diplomacy teachers in preparation for teaching the Conflict Performance Task in 12th grade.
This performance based task belongs to an extended "family" of alternative assessment and includes the processes of active research and implementation of solutions.
The research topic of a Conflict Performance Task is a problem relevant to the student. The problem is practical and “real-world” versus theoretical or philosophical. The students are asked to explore and investigate the problem within the context of conflict management and to offer real solutions that they attempt to implement.
This course will provide conflict management teachers with the tools needed to teach and assess the CPT.
